HBT parking zone permits

Living in Netley Rd we have seen the parking situation become unbearable over the past few years so, reluctantly, agreed to CPZ. A football match at home on a Sunday means we are not covered,ie; its ok for anyone to park on our roads! So that's a bit of a waste of my money! Secondly those living on Ealing rd get a double zone permit for the price of one! How is that fair?? They can park in both BRS zone and HBT zone. Anyone explain this??

The signs that went up say "Event Days"- at least they did on Tuesday.Buffer zone permits are quite common where two zones usually meet and are usually for one or two streets that are dissected by a zone.The problem really is now of residents own making. Oversized cars and vans.Do people really need Giant Audi and Volvos for 2 kids. Huge people movers?And what about the large amount of larger cars with TfL Taxi permits?They are working vehicles for Hire or Reward so should they not be paying a business fee?Long vans are not supposed to have permits if over 5.25m in overall length but several new vans have appeared with permits that way exceed this>How does that happen?

It says event day saturdays with Brentford now in the championship sky now tells them what time they play so the cpz could be useless at weekends

I have a dual permit. No offense but there is no way I will park in a HBT zone. The HBT zone isn't a nice area to park. I am more than happy to stay in my zone and not have HBT in it. It is what is it.

The permit does not cover Sundays no matter what, football or not. As for a buffer zone I do not really understand this as Ealing rd was on BRS zone for a couple of years because, obviously, HBT wasn't in existence. So many Ealing rd residents simply chose not to pay for a permit and simply park in Netley rd. However now they are forced to apply for a permit, if they wish to park whenever they need, so I do not understand how they would have had just a BRS permit but applying now means they get a dual one. Netley rd has many more properties than Ealing rd so it appears we are refucing the small amout of space Haverfield has for the residents straight away.You are right when you say about large vehicles, ie. two camper vans, and licenced taxis.

Ealing Rd residents should not be allowed to get permits in HBT.As they came under BRS. Brentford Playing on a Sunday is rare only last game of season. Event day should have been left off as a certain day. This should have been flagged up in the consultation period. Enforcement very poor at night vans creeping back. Weekend parking full. BUT it has made a big difference Mon-Fri.

The BRS CPZ is operational between 7-8pm Monday to Friday.  I do see wardens operating during those hours but not as often as I would like to.

My reason for stating no Ealing Rd residents to have HBT permits as I was lead to believe they already came under BRS. Event days are always Saturday as M-F covers times already. The frustration is come 2000 on Friday night not only  the vans but hotel guests and residents from neighbouring estates eg GWQ, St James all park till Monday morning.

So what is the answer to make the CPZ zones work better for residents?Wasn't the BRS zone supposed to be reviewed after 2 years?

Regardless of frustration I some times have I think the BRS CPZ is working fine. Parking has improved big times. I can now park in my street any day any time. The only change leading to even better parking for residents' cars would be to extent CPZ to 7 days/week, 8am - 8pm. This will hurt, however, residents as well, creating problems to our visitors, carers, services. I think what we have now - is a good compromise.

You are correct, Ealing rd came under BRS zone when it came in force. Netley rd already has 2 camper vans and a car parked on it all belonging to Ealing rd residents! So our space is already being taken up by residents who do not live on Haverfield. I have to say that during the week and before 8pm the area is hugely improved and parking is now possible. I know it is virtually impossible to have a perfect solution, but I just completely disagree and fail to understand the rationale behind, adding a road already covered by a CPZ, an additional zone.

Normally a buffer zone ( which works both ways between zones is restricted to just a few streets either side of the buffer, not to park in the entirety of either zone.Your prime permit if in BRS should allow you to park anywhere in BRS but your buffer permit would only allow one or two streets closest to the Haverfield zone and vice versa.It really only applies to a very small group who are caught between two zones.It sounds like it has either been messed up or not clearly explained.The reason for the late hour in BRS is simply to deter parking for midweek matches. Kick offs are usually 7.30 -7.45. Zone is in force till 8pm.There are though, residents renting out their visitor permits for games even on saturdays, but not much can be done about that, How does one prove it?But large vehicles getting permits when the rules clearly state restrictions on size seems to be getting abused. And the Hotels at weekends are becoming a problem.This underlines the pure folly of not including adequate parking in new developments. The car is here to stay whatever it's fuelled by and it needs to be accommodated sensibly. Most people will still use public transport locally as long as it is good and cheap.  But nearly 200 quid to get from Birmingham to London by train PER person is why 4 or 5 will cram into a car every time. That's what it cost to go to a family wedding by train last week - Standing room only reserved seats double booked. Will never do it again, and all because our car was boxed in by two vans for 5 days over the Bank Holiday. Both on visitor permits.So would like to see enforcement strengthened and restrictions enforced a bit more on oversize vehicles and cars used as minicabs. Many of which are a scam to avoid the CC.Thankfully Sunday events at Griffin Park are very rare so as long as good communication is made to residents it's not as bad as it was.On the whole I think we have the best compromise as a draconian CPZ is hell and very costly, not just fiscally but socially. It is really hard on elderly and those needing carers, childminders and normal social exchange.At worst a third hour might be needed but not an all day 7 day.  No. May as well go and live in Fulham.

The western side came under BRS, yes, but on the eastern side, I believe only the "siding" opposite MAK required BRS permits. Further north, we easterners were offered an option to buy them - presumably in case we needed to park across the road - but our side roads & car parks came under Haverfield so weren't covered. The number of addresses eligible to buy a dual-zone permit is really pretty small. And it's certainly not us causing you post-8pm parking problems!

Abbreviations for the names of the two Zones  BRS -Brook Road South etc.That's what I thought, the buffer zone is only applicable to a very few caught on the very edge of two zones. Perfectly sensible I think.
