HEALING IN CHISWICK

Many of you are aware that we have been running a healing centre monthly at the London Buddhist Vihara in Chiswick for many years.The Vihara is doing some building works at present therefore we will not be able to use the hall for at least one month.  I am sorry.  I will advise you again as soon as we are able to use the space again.

Can I expect an automatic response when sending an email into traffic at LBH?

How do I know if it has been received?  I previously wrote that a neighbour, after pursuing his email, was told they hadn’t received it because it had gone into their spam mail.  I have sent 2 requests for the Northumberland Estate CPZ report and had no indication as to whether they have received either of them.  Do I send a third request, just to make sure?

|Hounslow Council Climate Emergency Action Plan

Firstly there is no climate emergency unless you regard being unable to access heating and hot water  to suit your demand  and live without a roof over your head. Climate changes naturally, living in Northern hemisphere exposes us to a natural hostile climate, a little bit of warming 1.5 degrees would be beneficial. The Council jumping on the bandwagon is typical of a council looking to increase local taxes. What had been Global Cooling in the 70's became Global Warming then it was changed to Climate Change and now we hear hysterical cries of a Climate Emergency. None of the previous climate predictions happened, so why should we get behind this one? C02 is a natural gas and not a pollutant. C02 added to the atmosphere generates faster plant growth, its making the planet greener (according to NASA ) resulting in more crops and plantlife.Climate policies control you not the climate.

Line Dancing for Older People starts February 3rd

Wear White At Night.

Whilst we work on the Keep Britain Tidy campaign, could we bring this one back too?I am fed up with not seeing jaywalkers unless the bottom of their trainers are white, and why do cyclist have a death wish wearing dark colours with no lights or spoke or pedal reflectors?Grrrrr!

Cycle lane at Boston Manor Station

Can someone tell me where l can safely walk after crossing from the station heading towards the Post Office? Walking in that direction the other evening signs on pavement for bikes going both ways but no clear marking for walkers do we go in the road then!

Free healing on Monday 10th February

Free healing on Monday 10th FebruaryThe monthly healing centre at the London Buddhist Vihara, The Avenue, Chiswick, will be open on Monday 10th February from 10.30am and 12.30pm. Healing helps any condition, from stress right through to physical illness. There is no charge made for the healing (all the healers are working on a voluntary basis), although a donation would be welcome and will be given to the Vihara.

A message for L&Q - Morrisons site

'In the light of reduced demand and increased costs, particularly for fire safety measures. L&Q are now reviewing their extensive portfolio of development sites'If anyone's listening at L&Q... in the immortal words of Elsa from Frozen, LET IT GO. Stop the development. Please. There's far too much development in Brentford. No one's buying anything. Very few like this particular scheme and it will make life horrible for the children (and parents) at the school next door. It's a no-brainer - kill it right now. Say sorry - very, very sorry - and get Mozza's back on board. Make it a better supermarket. (It's been a bit 'off' recently, but who could blame it - it doesn't know what's going on.) It's not just a retailer, it's a community hub and it's important for the elderly and for non-drivers like me. It's also been miserable for the staff, who don't know if they're coming or going. This development has been a waste of both many years and a massive chunk of cash. It's going to take more years and more cash for something horrible and unwanted to be built. Leave the site and the car park alone. There HAS to be a breathing space, with somewhere in the area left undeveloped.PLEASE, L&Q. You know it makes sense. You can do this.

And still it goes on...........

You may remember the sorry saga of trying to help my elderly neighbours 'downsize' from a 3 bed house to a flat in a sheltered unit that was beset by so many problems you really couldn't have made it up. This started in November 2017 they were told to get ready and start packing up last April and then left living out of boxes for months on end while Hounslow faffed with converting previous staff accomodation in the sheltered unit into two more flats. Although Hounslow did eventually help them with storage and getting a cooker that they'd removed - still they sit waiting.First of all it was questions over building regs. and the consultant that had been in charge (consultant really?) then it was questions over fire regs. These of course are both important and vital areas that have to be right - but how long can this possibly take? So from last April when they were told to get ready to move until now, all there has been is excuse after excuse.Elected members have been found wanting, and only one housing officer was of practical help as far as she was able. This is a disgraceful state of affairs, how can a local authority not convert two flats in a sheltered unit in over a year? Hounslow claim they are desperate for family houses - this would free up one, and there's been another empty in the next road since before Christmas, wouldn't you think that some sort of urgency in utilising their scarce properties would filter through somewhere?This is an absolute scandal, not only leaving elderly people in limbo for over a year but failing people who are waiting for a family home. Useless.

Gunnersbury park money from highways

I read the bit about the money that highways are giving to Gunnersbury and I don't understand. How does the motorway effect the buildings in the park. I know the motorway effects the bit under it and around it but this is where money should go. Couldnt we plant trees there and do something to protect kids on their way to school etc.

Do Any Of You Make Your Own Kombucha?

I am seriously considering starting to make some Kombucha. I have previously had a Ginger Beer plant for two years. I’ve watched several YouTube videos and read several blogs and recipes. It taste good and seems worth a try.I would like to have a chat with someone who has an active scoby to discuss details and get some practical advice.
